Q. So, aren't we gonna dive right in? A. "No."
Listen Haver (Hebrew for "Friend"), every time I have ever "dove" into anything, it has led me to drowning in some serious back peddling to tie up all of the loose ends or beginnings I created in my passionate haste!
You might be like me, excited by the thought of new endeavors and new adventures, but from a recent John Maxwell Podcast, Ol' Johnny Boy recommends not cutting corners. (He did say if you are terrible at something to cut corners though. If you need help with steps along the way, look for and receive help where you are weak, but never cut corners where you are strong. Got it?).
This means if you want to start a Podcast with your Best Friend and Havar, "HOLD UP, WAIT A MINUTE," because it's time to put a whole lotta Jesus in it.
Get Your HAVAR
Before you start running, it is a good idea to check your laces, because the last thing you need is to be tripping over those "loose ends" before you begin.
A great way to do this, when it comes to starting a Podcast with your Best Friend, is to ask yourselves these two questions:
Q. Is God Partnering us together in this season?
Q. Is a Podcast the platform that He is calling us to?
The worst thing you can do when you are chasing after the plans and purposes of God is to move without Him. So, pray before you try to slay, okay?
When God Gives You the Podcast, GO!
Okay Var, now that we got the important stuff out of the way, let's talk a little "How-To," shall we?
First things first. Podcasting is one of the most unsaturated platforms out there. There is plenty of room to spread your wings and release your message in a way that is completely unique to you.
Unlike social media platforms, podcasts are full of fans, not just fake friends. Your message will draw a community of people around you who tune in because they WANT and LOVE what ONLY YOU can offer. They will be YOUR #TRIBE + YOUR #PEOPLE.
But Here's Where it Gets a Little Sticky
Based on Statistics, it takes at least 2 years to see what your podcast can do. (Of course, God can change this as He sees fit. Heavenly favor is always a nice and prayed-for addition!).
Many podcasts drop off after 2 episodes, and many more fall to the wayside after 18. If these are Podcast Failure Markers, let's use them to strengthen our resolve for our own journeys, shall we?

Get Your Message
Pick Your Topic and your Audience- Believe it or not, your podcast will not be for everybody. Niche down as much, and as quickly, as you can in the beginning.
Your Podcast's Core Message and Audience is your Sweet Spot. It is where the Anointing spills out into the air waves.
This is the place you start from and THEN move from.
To help you refine this, ask yourselves who you are talking to. (Sample: We are talking to Women. Take it deeper: Stay-at-home mothers. Take it deeper: Stay-at-home moms who want to learn how to make time for themselves during the day.)
Podcast Name- Make sure to pick a name that partners well with your message and check Google to make sure it is not taken. (Sample: If we are talking to stay-at-home moms who want to learn how to make time for themselves during the day, let's create an awesome name that matches our content. The "Take a Breather, Mama" Podcast sounds good to me!).
Design Logo + Develop Tag Line
When you design your logo, take who you are talking to into consideration. The words, colors, and fonts you choose matter. Your Brand is your voice illustrated, so make sure it is "saying" what you want it to, in order for the right people to be drawn to it.
Choose visuals that match your message, and think of your tagline as a catch phrase that will share what you do quickly and powerfully.
